This new must-read novel from Jennifer E. Smith, author of The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight, explores the difficult choices that must be made when life and love lead in different directions.

I received this book for free via The Novl Newsletter in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. Huge thanks to The Novl!

Hello, Goodbye, and Everything in Between is the story of a young couple, Clare and Aidan, who spend their last night together running across town to determine their relationship status. Clare and Aidan are leaving for different colleges the following day and haven’t decided if they are going to stay together or break up. Clare and Aidan have been inseparable for two years. Clare believes that they should break up, so they can truly receive the college experience and Aidan believes they can make the long distance work.

Clare has created a list of places to visit during their last night home. Each place has particular and special memories. Clare believes that by visiting all these places, they can truly determine what to do about their relationship. When things don’t go as planned per the list, Clare becomes frustrated. She feels if their perfectly planned night doesn’t go according to plan, how will a long distance relationship fare? Aidan reminds Clare that just because the night isn’t going as planned, they can still have a fun night together. I loved how wonderfully Clare and Aidan’s personalities complimented each others.

Hello, Goodbye, and Everything in Between is a story about romance, but also about reality. While this story’s ending is bittersweet, it was perfect. I found this book to be an easy and quick read. The fast pace was nice and I enjoyed reading a book without any slow moments. This is the first book I have read by Jennifer Smith and I can see myself picking up her other books in the future. Fans of Jennifer Smith will enjoy this sweet contemporary.
