Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because they are particularly fond of lists at The Broke and the Bookish, and I decided to share my list with all of you also!
This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is…Top Ten Fairytale Retellings That Are On My TBR. Shall we?
1. The Shadow Queen by C.J. Redwine
A Snow White retelling!
2. Blackhearts by Nicole Castroman
A Black Beard retelling. Be still my heart.
3. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
A Beauty and the Beast retelling. I know, I know. What’s wrong with me and why haven’t I read this already?
4. Splintered by A. G. Howard
An Alice in Wonderland retelling, with quite a twist.
5. Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson
A Peter Pan retelling. Obviously there is something wrong with me since I haven’t read this book yet.
6. The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly by Stephanie Oakes
A retelling of The Handless Maiden. I have been dying to get my hands on this book…no pun intended…
7. A Thousand Nights
A retelling of One Thousand and One Nights!
8. Ash and Bramble by Sarah Prineas
A Cinderella retelling!
9. Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
Another Cinderella retelling. Everyone raves about this series and I desperately want to read it!
10. A Curse Dark as Gold by Elizabeth C. Bunce
A Rumplestiltskin retelling!
Some great books! If you like Beauty & The Beast retellings you need to check out Melanie Dickerson on my list – My TTT list

Splintered made my list as well. It sounds really good – and a different twist on Alice for sure.

I really can’t wait to read it! I actually own the first two installments in the series and I’m just waiting until I but the third installment so I can read all the books in a row!

My wish list has grown considerably reading all these posts. There’s just something about fairytale retellings, I guess. 🙂
Today was the first I’d heard of The Shadow Queen, and I’m definitely curious about that one. The cover of A Thousand Nights is enough to make me want to read that one. And Splintered and Tiger Lily both sound good as well.

As has mine! I’m such a huge fan of retellings and I love finding the similarities in the retellings from the original books!

There’s a Blackbeard retelling?!?!?!? hhaha when I was really little I used to be terrified of that story. I had this anthology of fairytales and after I read the story I had nightmares for a week. My mom had to put a bookmark on the page so I would know which pages to skip (it was a picture book). lol Now it’s one of my favorite fairy tale stories. Horror fairytales is totally becoming a thing for me.

I really liked it! I’m working on a review of it, but I need some time to think about it. It’s a fast read, but definitely good.

This is an excellent list! I loved CJ’s trilogy, so I can’t wait to see what she does with a fairy tale retelling. And Anita’s series is one of my top five ever…

I have never read anything by Redwine before, but The Shadow Queen seems like a wonderful place to start!

Tiger Lily and Splintered are two on my TBR as well! I never knew The Secret Lives of Minnow Bly was a retelling though! I think a lot of people may not know that DD: I loved Cinder by Marissa Meyer, which was a great retelling. I am pretty much crazy about retellings lately 😛
